Cybersecurity is identified as important component in the digital economy and Malaysia is promoting collaboration with the industry to strengthened the landscape. Hence, CyberSecurity Malaysia had initiated the CyberSecurity Malaysia Collaboration Programme (CCP) in conjunction with the Media Appreciation Day, to promote our YAKSHA Ambassador Programme. The CCP is a public-private partnership that targets Malaysian registered companies that provide cybersecurity products and services.
The dialogue session with industry partners was CyberSecurity Malaysia’s initiative in driving and developing the local cybersecurity industry as well as capability. The program was conducted at CyberSecurity Malaysia’s premise on 23 April 2019. There were 2 dialog sessions that were conducted:
1. OIC-CERT Panel Session: Cyber Security Industry Development Landscape in OIC Countries
The Panel Organisation of Islamic Cooperation – The Computer Emergency Response Teams (OIC-CERT) was attended by OIC-CERT Board Members comprising Oman, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Egypt and Iran. This panel exchanged on the Cyber Security Industry Development Landscape in their respective countries.
2. Cyber Security Industry Dialogue Session: Product and People Certification
– The session aimed to get feedback from cybersecurity industry players on initiatives and to gather recommendations on product and people certification programs.
YAKSHA Ambassador Program Promotion
The industry players, partners and media were well informed about the YAKSHA Ambassador Programme and brochures were distributed to interested parties.
In line with YAKSHA’s objective to improve cybersecurity technology adoption and development in Southeast Asia and Europe as a whole, CyberSecurity Malaysia as one of YAKSHA partners in Southeast Asia have initiated an engagement with the industry inviting them to participate as YAKSHA Ambassadors.
